Elder Jamar Herron is a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan where he grew up and currently resides. He is a family man, dedicated to supporting his large growing family. In August of 2008, Jamar married Robyn in a small ceremony with close family and friends. Through this union, Jamar became the father of 4 children; Arianna, Anjeliaca, Gery and Aluncia, and is now grandfather to 8, soon to be 9, grandchildren.

Jamar began working in ministry at an early age. He is a founding member of the New Life Fellowship Church which was established in September of 1996 by his parents, Pastor Jesse and Missionary Brenda Herron. Jamar served as music director, children’s Sunday school teacher and janitor. He was called to ministry in 2002, and was appointed to the role of minister at New Life Fellowship Church. Some of the many positions he has held are: youth leader, adult Sunday school teacher, minister of music, assistant to the pastor and operations administrator.

In July of 2009 Jamar was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ. As a clergy member in the Canada/Michigan Jurisdiction, he has served as Jurisdictional Lead of the C.O.G.I.C. Urban Initiatives program. In 2010 Jamar was lead to support a new ministry/church plant and became a founding board member of Christ Center Life Ministries, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He served there as Minister of Music for two years. In 2011, Jamar wrote and produced his solo album titled “If We Decide Love”. The album was released and distributed by God’s Sub-Culture Music, a record label founded by him and his wife, Robyn.

Jamar is currently serving as Assistant Pastor at New Life Fellowship Church, where he runs ‘day to day’ operations and is the Sunday morning worship leader. In addition to ministry, Jamar works as a real estate agent for Jaqua Realtors, a local family brokerage based in south west Michigan. He is a volunteer at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home, and is a “big brother” with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Jamar has a heart for youth and music ministry and his ongoing quest is to ensure that the Love of God is spread to everyone.

"With God All Things are Possible". Matt 19:26b

We see the Possibilities, not the obstacles, in all things, and we work to share that belief with those who are in need and with everyone we meet.
